Penile curvature or Peyronies disease is an irregular curve in the penis that becomes noticeable during erection.
Peyronies disease is the more severe type of penile curvature, often causing extreme distortion of the shape of the penis and pain during erections.
The problem forms much differently then congenital penis curvature (curvature formed at birth) or curvature formed in any other natural way such as through puberty when through the use of tight underwear, the penis can develop unequally, bending toward the underdeveloped side.
Peyronies disease starts to develop when a calcified plaque forms in a part of the penis called the Tunica Albuginea, which encases the two blood filling chambers called the Corpora Cavernosa. This calcified plaque hardens and turns into thick bands of scar tissue that run along the base of the penis, in different and random areas.
These bands can reduce the flexibility of the blood filling chambers, which normally expand inside the Tunica Albuginea as blood fills the penis during an erection. Depending on how severe the particular case is, the penis can become mildly to severely disfigured while erect. This can cause pain, swelling or even bleeding to occur. Sex can become difficult or even impossible without treatment.
The cause of Peyronies disease is highly debated and largely remains unknown. Some doctors think the condition is caused by an injury during rough sex when the penis accidentally bends while the female is on top, some doctors think it is caused by genetics, the condition has been known to spontaneously develop in men ages 45 to 60, but can occur in men as young as 18.
How to tell if you have Peyronies disease
Common symptoms experienced by men with the condition are:
Painful erections causing discomfort or pain during intercourse
Noticeable bend in the arc of the penis, and during erection
Certain areas of the penis are noticeably thinner during erection
Thick band of hardened tissue across the shaft
For many men, Peyronies disease can clear up by itself, but this approach can take many years and is not guaranteed to work. Most men with a problem that almost always makes sex difficult do not want to wait years to enjoy pleasurable sex again and look to surgery for a treatment.
The most common way to treat Peyronies disease or any penis curvature involves surgery. There are also several traditional medications and therapies available for men dealing with the issue such as Vitamin E or B-Complex treatments, steroid and calcium channel blocker injections, and radiation therapy but radiation is primarily used to reduce pain.
If you notice a slight bend in the shape of your penis, you should take action right away. If the pain becomes severe, you should see a doctor as soon as possible. Sudden onset of the condition is rare as the condition tends to progress gradually, giving you time to seek out an effective treatment.
Without proper treatment, Peyronies disease can severely deform and disfigure the penis, and can cause light to severe pain during erection making sex difficult or impossible. The only way to prevent the condition is to simply take a bit of care during rigorous physical activity. For example, you can wear a cup during sports, and you can also try penis strengthening exercises to make your penis stronger to handle any sexual position.
A Natural Cure
For men with already developed penile curvature or Peyronies disease, there are also non traditional approaches to fixing the problem. These methods are not endorsed by the FDA like some prescription medications, but they also result in no risk of side effects, and many doctors publicly endorse them as genuine alternatives to surgery or traditional therapies.
Regular use of a penis traction device has been clinically proven to reduce any penile curvature problem by up to 70%. The traction device can and should be worn for 5-12 hours per day, although men have achieved the desired size and shape with only 2-3 hours of daily use.
The traction device works by stretching the penis so that the hardened scar tissue can break up and dissolve while building a stronger, straighter and healthier penis for the user. During stretching, the tissue cells expand and divide, building healthy new tissue cells in place of the plaque which is removed from the body through the bodys own healing processes.
The traction device is now considered a safe and reliable at-home treatment for Peyronies disease and penis curvature and thousands of men have used it to gain a healthier and even larger penis size.

Hi. I am 24. I have been having a slight form of Peyronie’s for about 4 years. The curvature itself is not a problem(about 20 degrees) but it does obstruct me and I feel the right part of my penis(maybe the corpus carvenosus) different than before. It is still afflicting me and influecing my normal sex life. Due to this, the glans of my penis also doesn’t get enough blood. Do you think a penis traction device can really help dissolve this non-elastic tissue in my penis? Because when I search for peyronie’s in internet, I don’t usually see this option as a treatment option. Is it really 100 percent safe?
Thank you so much!
