Have you ever thought of getting yourself a fake ID? It is illegal to use a fake ID to get into a club, purchase anything, sell anything or do anything that requires identification, but they can be great for a laugh! Having a fake ID made with a humorous name or a funny photo can be a good party gag, or can be used to play a practical joke on an unsuspecting somebody. There are a lot of ways to have a fake ID made, or you could do it yourself. Bear in mind that no fake ID will stand up to proper scrutiny, and yours should only be used for joke purposes

If you would like to make a fake ID, then there are a lot of software packages you can download that will help you. You can also use a photo editing program if you think you are good enough, but you might find that your printer will let you down. Unless you have an extremely high quality color laser printer, the colors on your fake ID will definitely look, well, fake. There are also usually holographic prints that they overlay on top of a real ID which are impossible to duplicate using a printer or a home laminating machine.

Making a simple fake is probably the easiest way to go. You can scan your existing ID, replace the photo with something funny (one example was of a guy downing a bottle of vodka in his driver’s license photo) or another person’s photo. Editing the text should be no problem, but make sure you make it clear that it is not a real ID you have created. Print the ID and try to get the colors as close as possible, and then mount it on card and laminate it, cutting off the edges. Now you are ready to play your first practical joke using your fake ID!

People not to play jokes on with your ID: policemen, nightclub bouncers and people who work at the library. These people have no sense of humor, especially when it comes to fake IDs.
