You basically don’t have to be a professional painter to do this. As long as you are highly imaginative, then you can certainly paint your way to beautiful Halloween face paint designs. Nevertheless, there are a number of tools that would surely come in handy. You need around 3 to 4 types of brushes, face paints of your choice, and some sponges. The colors will depend on the idea you have in mind. You can go for plain colors, such as black with some lining of silver for that one-of-a-kind evening glow. Or you may settle for something more elaborate, using a wide variety of colors and stick on jewels for a more mystic effect. You can also add some body glitters if you want to sparkle. Even the UV-type face paints are gaining popularity among face painters.

Be a Butterfly

Girls, both big and little, will surely be delighted to spread their wings come Halloween season. And being one can never be a problem, as the steps for painting a butterfly face is very easy.

For a good start, you can outline the wings of your butterfly all over your face. Your ultimate goal is to get symmetrical wings, which you can achieve with some practice. You can begin painting at your nose ridge and move the paint to your forehead, just above your eyebrows. You can then move towards your nose, mouth, and to your jaw. Connect the two lines by occupying majority of your cheeks. This is to give the butterfly wings the span and character they need.

Once you already have the outline of the wings, allow your imagination to run wild. You can choose two-color scheme with your butterfly wings, perhaps the darker color occupying half of them and the lighter one on the other. You may also add some more shapes on them, probably some circles or swirls. It doesn’t really matter. The most important thing is you are able to express yourself with your Halloween face paint designs. You can also opt to add the body of the butterfly; however, this is only optional.

For better results, it’s always best to make sure that the colors of your wings are very much visible or emphasized. Thus, use darker colors if you have lighter complexion and light ones if you’re a little bit tan or dark.

Clown Your Way through Halloween

One of the easiest face paint designs that you can do is a clown face. You just simply have to stick to the essential elements, such as a red nose and cheeks, and truly white face. Don’t forget that huge red lips. However, your clown face doesn’t have to be truly simple. In fact, you can make it stand out. How? By actually mixing numerous colors all over your face. Don’t worry, clowns always get away with anything flamboyant.

With Halloween face paint designs, your imagination is your only limit. So be the fairy, butterfly, clown, ghost or whatever you want to be!
