And since the face is a sensitive body part, many of them come with a cooling system that allows the face to stay cool while being tanned. Make sure to keep the fans clean and unobstructed.

For any type of tanning gear, you must of course make sure to replace bulbs when they have reached their life expectancy. The estimated amount of hours a brand-new bulb has should be indicated on its box - be sure to keep track of when a replacement is due. Waiting for the bulbs to grow obviously dim before replacing them may seem practical, but while the bulbs are growing dim, you are also missing out on a good tan! Keep a stock of replacement parts, such as bulbs, ballasts and starters, handy in case of emergencies.
