<p>So, do you have a business card? If not, then get one! </p>
<p>How can you use your business cards to advertise your business?</p>
<p>1. Get a removable adhesive glue stick and swipe the back of your business cards. You can then post them in gas stations, restrooms, on payphones, Atm machines, and gyms, magazines in waiting rooms, grocery store bulletin boards and laundry mats. You can also stick them up at the gas pump or on a bathroom mirror.  Leave a trail&#8230; and someone will follow it!</p>
<p>2. Another idea is to put one of your cards in the envelope along with your monthly bills. Someone is opening them and they may be looking for a great home business. </p>
<p>3. Use your cardboard window visor, you know, the big one that keeps out the sun, and on the blank side use a stencil or letter stickers to make a big business card. Something like, Start an Internet Home Business, Make Money With our Automated System, would do fine. Put it inside your windshield and then on the outside of your windshield stick your post it business cards. People will take them.</p>
<p>4. Volunteer to help at local job fairs or other events and then you are in a great position to hand out some business cards. This is a great way to find contacts and to let others know about your business and also your willingness to help others. </p>
<p>TIP: Your local newspaper often has stories or listings of people being promoted. What an opportunity! Send them a blank invitation type card with a written note congratulating them on their promotion and include your business card. People usually open invitation type envelops. Who knows, they may respond back to you. </p>
<p>Add a slogan to your business card that tells people what makes you different from all the rest. Brand your business with a catchy phrase and people will remember you when they need you. </p>
<p>How can you increase the effectiveness of your business cards?</p>
<p>- All business cards should be printed on high quality paper with a well thought out design. A business card is represents you and is a branding tool for your company.</p>
<p>- When attending a business meeting make sure you have a good number of business cards with you. Why be stingy with your business cards?</p>
<p>- Exchange business cards at the beginning or at the end of a meeting. Keep your business cards in one pocket while putting any you receive in another. </p>
<p>- Whenever you hand out one of your business cards, ask for one in return.  When you are given a business card, do not just put it in your pocket. Look at the card for a few seconds. You may see something of interest that can be used to start a conversation. Jot down some things on the back of the card such as the date, location and common points of interest. These comments can be used when following up with that contact.  Then put the card in your wallet. If you can make someone feel important, then you just may become important to them. </p>
<p>- Exchange your business card only with someone you wish to stay in contact with. Avoid forcing your business card on anyone whom you are not acquainted with. </p>
<p>- Avoid using your business card as a billboard. Include your USP but try not to overdue it.</p>
<p>- Follow up. It is just as important to get a business card as it is to give one. To be an effective networker you must have an effective follow up system. </p>
<p>Think of your business card as a starting point for your marketing efforts. They introduce you and your business to potential customers. They are your identify. </p>
<p>A business card can be one of the most powerful marketing tools available. They are inexpensive and easy to distribute. You never know when you may meet someone who could become a customer, so why do we forget to carry our business cards around with us?  What a big mistake!</p>
<p>A business card can bring in many opportunities, so make it a rule not to go out without them.</p>

<p>There are two options for finding leads for your network marketing business.</p>
<p>1. Lead generating company. You can buy leads from a company, but you really never know how current they are or if the leads are valid. Before buying any leads ask a few questions. How old are the leads? What category or area of interest do they fall under? How many times have the leads that you are buying been sold? Most importantly, are they verified? Make sure that these leads are interested in what you are contacting them about. You do not want to contact someone who has no interest in your offer!</p>
<p>TIP: Sometimes older leads are better. Think of it this way, a fresh lead has probably seen hundreds of opportunities in a short period of time. But if a lead is not so fresh yet has not found that opportunity then they may be still interested. Do not avoid cheap leads, sometimes they may be the best leads. </p>
<p>2. Get your own leads. The best way to get good, interested leads is to find them yourself. You can do this through your website or by advertising. One idea that really makes it easy to get leads is to offer a newsletter relating to your business. Set up a subscribe link on your website and start collecting leads. Another idea is to set up a lead generating survey for your website. Let your visitors tell you want they think of your site while leaving their contact information. These are leads that you know are interested in your business since they came to your website. You can then call them and thank them for taking the survey while mentioning your business. </p>
<p>TIP: Contact any lead within 24 hours. People change their minds or move on to something else very quickly. So move fast. People expect a quick response. </p>
<p>Before you spend your money on any leads it is important that you understand that all leads are not created equal. You can save alot of money and give your business a boost by knowing and understanding that there are three distinct types of mlm leads:</p>
<p>1. Targeted, high quality leads. Think back before you found your current home business; chances are that you were a high quality, targeted lead. You probably actively searched for your business on some search engine, found an interesting website and then requested more information. Guess what the definition of a high quality lead is? It is the result that comes from the proactive search on the part of a prospect. It is pre-qualified and self-generated, thus making it the best type of lead for your business. </p>
<p>2. Direct response generated leads. Unlike the above leads these people probably were not actively searching for a home business opportunity but they may have spotted your ad or website while looking for something else and then contacted you for more information.</p>
<p>3. Cheap, unresponsive leads. These leads are usually not very good because they have been used way too much. But if you do not have a big advertising budget, then by using large quantities of cheap mlm leads you may find a small percentage of people that are currently looking for another opportunity. </p>
<p>Massive results come from taking massive action over a specific period of time. </p>
<p>Before buying any leads first ask yourself what type of marketing you are doing. It is important that you have the right type of leads for your campaign. It is also important to know how you will initiate contact with any leads, through email or phone? It takes time and effort to convert leads into members. </p>
<p>The number of leads is not as important as the quality of the leads. You can maximize your time and effort by finding leads that bring results. </p>
<p>How do you know whether a lead is high quality?</p>
<p>- How often has the lead been sold?</p>
<p>- Have they been contacted concerning your offer or program previously?</p>
<p>- How old is the lead? The fresher the better.</p>
<p>- Are they guaranteed? </p>
<p>- A lead may not convert, but you should be able to talk to the right person.</p>
<p>TIP: Contact your upline sponsor and find out what leads they have used successfully. </p>
<p>One thing to remember about leads is that most of them do not want to be sold on any business opportunity. They do not care how great your company is or how wonderful the products, they really want to know what&rsquo;s in it for them! </p>
<p>You are not in the business of convincing people. If someone joins your team, it is because they are actually looking. The key to building your network marketing business is to attract people who are actively seeking a business opportunity. </p>
<p>Keep it simple and only do what you know will work.</p>

<p>Exposing your business to the media through a press release can be a very effective advertising method. News media such as newspapers and television depend on press releases to provide interesting stories for their customers. </p>
<p>The media is all over the internet so why not take the time to interest them in your business?  Read a few press releases before you start writing yours. It is important to use the correct format so visit free-press-release and prbuzz for some excellent examples.</p>
<p>Writing a press release is much different then writing an article. A press release should be brief, yet include enough information so that a journalist could put together a short article using just the information that you provide. It should not be an advertisement or a sales brochure. </p>
<p>Here are some press release writing tips:</p>
<p>1. A press release should look and sound like news.</p>
<p>2. Only send your press release to the media that is related to your topic.</p>
<p>3. Keep your press releases short. No more then one page in length.</p>
<p>4. The top of your release should contain your contact information and the date. </p>
<p>5.  Try to use short sentences and double space in between lines.</p>
<p>6.  Capture your readers attention with your title and the first few sentences.</p>
<p>7.  Include the basics - who, what, where, when and why right from the beginning. Get to your point immediately. </p>
<p>8.  Make sure there are no grammar or spelling mistakes. Proofread over and over. </p>
<p>9.  End your press release with a summary. </p>
<p>Anyone can distribute a press release, but to be successful a press release needs to appeal to a broad audience, be professional and most of all it must be news worthy. Press release marketing may be one of the most cost effective as well as powerful forms of advertising available today. A well written informative press release will help show your readers that you know your business and will also help to brand your company or website. </p>
<p>Many entrepreneurs think that their online business is not newsworthy. </p>
<p>What might you consider newsworthy?</p>
<p>- A new service or product that you are offering on your website.</p>
<p>- The results of an online survey. </p>
<p>- A new website. </p>
<p>- An online award that your website or business has won.</p>

<p>1. Put your website on notepads, pens, newsletters, bumper stickers, coffee cups. </p>
<p>2. Flyers  - When you buy your morning newspaper, slip some flyers into the rest of the newspapers.  </p>
<p>3. Business cards (You can make up your own or get them free through VistaPrint)</p>
<p>4. Article marketing is one of my favorite method of advertising. If you write articles and then use a service to publish them, your articles become viral.Your articles will spread like a virus and could have the potential to be viewed by hundreds of thousands of people.</p>
<p>5. Participating in online discussion forums is an excellent way to get the word out about your business - and it is free. Build relationships first and use your signature file to let everyone know what you do and who you are. </p>
<p>6. Free classifieds</p>
<p>7. Targeted ezine advertising is one of the most cost effective ways to advertise your business. </p>
<p>8. Paid ads - such as solo ads. Test, test, test. Your success depends on your ad and your heading!</p>
<p>9. Mail out postcards. </p>
<p>10. Purchase leads that are targeted and related to your business. If possible get their phone number and followup. </p>
<p>11. Bookmarks for libraries, don&#8217;t forget to talk to your librarian first.</p>

<p>48. Put your website address on your sun visor using vinyl letters.  </p>
<p>49. Find an old metal tin (or new), put a magnet on the back, put your business cards in them and then just attach this to your car when you go into a store.</p>
<p>50. Be different and get noticed. When you are unique then you are one step ahead of your competition.</p>
<p>There are many ways to promote your business without spending a fortune. Think outside the box. Most people notice things that are different, something that draws their attention or even makes them laugh.</p>
<p>Keep it simple, keep it cheap and before you know it your success will be achieved without going broke. </p>

Doctors and lawyers need years of training before starting, but network marketers can achieve success within their first year with focus and consistent action. </p>
<p>Ask yourself, why you are looking to get involved in a network marketing program?  Your answer to this simple question will determine how far you go and how successful your home business becomes more than any other reason.  If your reason is powerful enough than every challenge you face is when your why, which is your reason to succeed, will give you the determination to keep going and persevere. </p>
<p>What motivates people to get involved in network marketing?</p>
<p>Fact #1. The majority of people are not happy with their current employment.</p>
<p>Fact #2. The majority of people are not happy with their income or the amount of free time that they have.</p>
<p>Fact #3. The majority of people spend more time at work then with their families.</p>
<p>Fact #4. The majority of families still struggle even with two incomes.</p>
<p>Fact #5. The majority of children under 3 years of age spend most of their time in child care. </p>
<p>Fact #6. The majority of people get laid off before they can retire.</p>
<p>What are some of the road blocks that you may face when you join a network marketing company?</p>
<p>1. How to recruit new members without spending a fortune. Research. Only join a company once you know that they will offer resources, such as a website, literature, and other marketing tools to help you find members without spending allot of money. Expect allot of help from your sponsor. Determine before joining whether your upline sponsor is actively working with their downline by providing marketing tools and by just being available to answer questions. </p>
<p>TIP: Keep in touch with everyone that you personally sponsor. Do this by email or phone. Try to keep them all active. If they are not active, then do not waste your time on someone who just is not interested. </p>
<p>2. The newness of network marketing concepts and terms may be overwhelming at first. Spend time learning about the network marketing business as well as the company that you are going to join. The best way to combat confusion is with knowledge. </p>
<p>TIP: Learn all you can about network marketing. Do your research and find a company that you feel passionate about, and before you know it you will have earned your financial freedom.</p>
<p>3. No upline support. When a person joins a new program they need a lot of help to get started. </p>
<p>TIP: What should you look for in a sponsor? You must understand that there are sponsors and then there are recruiters. A recruiter is only interested in getting as many people as possible in their downline. A real sponsor understands why people join their team and they help them to achieve a long term plan through focus and commitment. </p>
<p>4. Going from one network marketing program to the next. Find a good company, establish a plan, set goals and then work it until you make progress. To often people do not give a program enough time to work, they move from one thing to another looking for that quick success.</p>
<p>5. Generating leads. Everyone needs good leads to contact to help build their business. There are many ways to get leads online without having to pester your friends and family. </p>
<p>TIP: Do not spend allot of money and time on a marketing method that is not working. Test. Find out what works and what does not. When it works, stay with it!</p>
<p>6. Choosing a company that is not financially sound and well established.  You must feel good about the company and the products you will be promoting. </p>
<p>TIP:  Concentrate and understand the business itself and know the money making potential as well as how the company pays. </p>
<p>7. It takes time! Any business takes time to get started and turn a profit, the same can be said for any network marketing company. </p>
<p>TIP: It can take several months, if not longer for much of anything to start happening. You must find leads, get members and give your team a chance to grow!. Set in your mind that you are going to not give up for at least one year. </p>
<p>8. What happens if your company suddenly gets into trouble and is no more? Anything can happen, so be prepared. Never keep all your eggs in one basket. </p>
<p>TIP: Try and build your first level as soon as you can. Then your income will cover the costs of your membership. This may take a little effort, but with online marketing, it can be done. Once you show your first level how to do the same, you will be earning a decent income and can move on to another opportunity.  Remember that joining a bunch of companies with out building a good, solid team first will only lead to failure. </p>
<p>One last TIP:  Stick to the methods that work best for you! If it works, then just keep doing it. </p>
<p>With the help of your upline and some savvy internet marketing techniques you can recruit new prospects without spending a fortune. Do a lot of research, discover what works for you, and then teach your downline. Within no time not only will you be successful but so will your team!</p>

<p>Successful network marketers are committed, they put together a plan and execute that plan no matter how long it takes.</p>

<p>1. You must have the right attitude and most of all you must take your network marketing business seriously. </p>
<p>2. You need to understand your strengths and use them!  To many of us focus on improving our weaknesses when we should actually focus on what we are already good at doing. </p>
<p>3. Your success depends on finding the right company for you. Before joining any company, ask yourself a few questions: Do you agree with the companies vision? Would you and your family use the products? Are they consumable? High quality? Are they much more expensive then store bought? Is the company well established? Are there testimonials from others who are already involved with the company? Can you understand the compensation plan? How is their customer service? Are there training tools available? </p>
<p>4. Your success also depends on finding the right sponsor. This is critical. Before joining any company make sure you will be joining under someone that can and will provide you with the support and resources that you need to succeed. Here are some more questions to ask of a potential sponsor: How long have you been with the company? Are you making any money? Are they getting the support they need? How knowledgeable are they about the company?  What marketing experience do they have? What resources or training do they offer to their team?</p>
<p>5. You have to invest in personal excellence. Raise your standards by improving who you are. </p>
<p>How can you improve?</p>
<p>- Learn something new every day.<br />
- Learn from those who have succeeded. Read books.<br />
- Find a mentor. Be a mentor.<br />
- Keep a journal. Know what you are doing, so you know what is working and what is not.<br />
- Learn about your company, success, networking, marketing and every thing you need to add to your personal success. </p>
<p>What is network marketing really all about? It is about building relationships, creating trust,  and working with people to build a successful team. People will join with you because of you, not because of the company. </p>
<p>This may sound hard to most of us, but to succeed in network marketing you will have to put people first and money second. You will have to be generous with your time and information. Share what you know and what you have experienced. You know you have succeeded when people join your company because they trust and believe in you. </p>
<p>The true power of network marketing depends on having a system that can be duplicated, a system that is consistent with success and a system that can be passed on to your downline.</p>
<p>What is very important to any network marketing program is repeat business. That is where the majority of your income will come from.</p>

<p>Why do people fail in network marketing?  Most do not recognize that it is a profession, a business. They may think that they can get rich quick and not take it seriously.</p>
<p>To succeed in any business you need to be consistent, you need to treat it with the same effort as a normal 9 to 5 job for at least a year. If you do this then you will see the difference in results. </p>

<p>Every page of your site should contain a relevant heading! People will read a heading before moving on to any other part of your page. If your heading is good enough then your visitors may just hang around longer to explore the rest of your site. </p>
<p>Most website copy does nothing more then give a description of a product or service without providing some kind of selling proposition. Try not to lose sight of the fact that you are trying to sell something.  It has been shown that we only remember about 40 percent of what we see. So make sure that you repeat your proposition more then once.</p>
<p>TIP: Nobody really cares about what you may have achieved. Are you really interested in what someone else has achieved or in what you can achieve? Make sure your website provides your potential customers with information on what you can do for them!</p>
<p>One of the best ways to have a successful online business is to provide appealing, well thought out information on your website. A website should provide value to visitors. Write as if you are talking to a friend&#8230; keep it simple and keep it straight. </p>
<p>Your website should be as user friendly as possible. Include good purposeful text links within your copy and this will also help your ranking in the search engines. </p>
<p>Within your website each page should contain links to other pages within your site to allow for visitors to easily find what they are looking for. A page index or site map will help visitors navigate through your website quickly and without any confusion. </p>
<p>Grammar is critical. So be careful that your spelling and use of words is correct. Use a spellchecker. Your visitors deserve professionalism. </p>
<p>TIP: Keep the exclamation marks to a minimum! They can be very annoying and they do not make your copy anymore effective. </p>
<p>Here are a few more quick tips to keep in mind when developing your copy.</p>
<p>1. Your website should contain plenty of white space. Too many words may scare your visitors away. </p>
<p>2. Use simple, concise, easy to understand words. </p>
<p>3. Make sure your copy is scannable by not using run on sentences. Keep your paragraphs short and use big text. Only use bold text for your keywords.</p>
<p>4. Your words should be descriptive and appropriate for your subject. </p>
<p>5. Organize your copy so that you start simple and then slowly get to the details. </p>
<p>Remember that you could have the coolest graphics with the best layout around, but if your copy is useless and not very informative then why bother?</p>
<p>What are the advantages of having phenomenal copy on your website?  If you go through the trouble of getting quality visitors to your website then you want them to stick around. The longer they stay, the more tempted they are to buy something.  Your copy should make your visitors feel comfortable.</p>
<p>TIP: By providing contact details with a physical address your visitors will fell like you are a real business and not a scam. It creates credibility. </p>

<p>1. A for Attention. Grab the attention of your visitor with your heading. Focus on what you can do for your visitor and not on what you are actually promoting. </p>
<p>2. I for Interest. Keep their interest. Provide specific details in a precise and clear manner. </p>
<p>3. D for Desire. Stir up your visitors desire. Advertising alone does not create desire, but desire creates advertising. </p>
<p>4. A for Action. Explain to your visitors what action to take to achieve their desires and then provide a means for them to take action! </p>
<p>Think of your website copy as something that you can turn into cash flow as it relates to your specific market. Think of writing phenomenal copy as a process. The more you write, the easier the process and the better you become. </p>
<p>Know what your visitors want, provide something that they need, and your success is sure to follow.  </p>

The problem with most  safelists is that most members do not read their emails!  They set up a specific list email address just for these emails, and then go in every once in a while and just delete all the emails that they receive from the safelists. Why? Probably because they receive so many messages that it is impossible to read them all.</p>
<p>Why are credit based safelists different? They effectively do two things: make sure that your messages get read and that each message sent  out will result in hits to your website. </p>
<p>How do they work?</p>
<p>1. A person signs up and gets a certain amount of credits. They can sign up as a free or paid member. Of course, paid members get more credits. </p>
<p>2. With these credits a member is able to send to as many members as he has credits for. If you have 10,000 credits then you are allowed to send an email ad to 10,000 members.</p>
<p>3. What happens when a member has no more credits? They must earn them, and now we find out why credit based systems are much better then normal safelists.</p>
<p>There are two ways for members to earn credits. They can be purchased or they can be earned by reading emails from other members. The number of credits you get from reading each email varies depending on the safelist and the email address that the message is sent to.  </p>
<p>Here is how it usually works. When you sign up for a credit safelist you usually provide two email addresses. One is your contact email address and one is your list email address. Your list email address will get many messages, so make sure you are prepared. Use marketer friendly email accounts, many safelists now ban yahoo and aol email addresses  because so many of them bounce.  Most safelists now have a restricted email list. Try Googles new,  free email service. </p>
<p>Once you read an email you must click on the link that says, click here to earn credits. You will then be taken to the website which must be viewed for 20 seconds. The average credits earned for reading emails that go to your list address are usually under 100 credits. </p>
<p>The safelist will also send emails to your contact email address, but the credits earned here are usually 400 to 1000.  You will not receive many of these emails because they are paid solo ads which is an advertising service offered by the safelists for a fee.  The cost depends on the number of members. </p>
<p>When sending out your safelist emails it is best to send out a credit mailing versus a standard one.  Why would you send out a normal safelist mailing when you know it will not get read? At least with a credit based mailing you know other members will be seeing your website for at least 20 seconds. </p>
<p>TIP: You will get the best results with credit based safelists using a lead capture page.  It is important to get contact information, why? Followup! The more persistent you are the more success you will have. </p>
<p>While normal safelist advertising has become pretty much useless, credit based safelists will provide results, especially if your email copy and website are unique and attention grabbing. </p>
<p>Some helpful tips for using credit based safelists:</p>
<p>1. Automate! Manually submitting to safelists can be a waste of time. Check out the Snazzy Freeware Safe List Submitter.</p>
<p>2. Promote a program that has a free sign up option. This can be very important. Make it a no brainer, less thinking more action.</p>
<p>3. The subject should be short and snappy. If your headline is too long then your message will not get opened.</p>
<p>4. Use a lead capture page and do not go for the sale right away. Offer something for free, get their contact information and follow up! What could be easier?</p>
<p>Are you looking to improve your ad copy? If you are serious about marketing then you need to be looking for new and better ways to improve your ads.  Review some of those ads you get in your list email. What buzz words are being used? Are the ads long or short? What type of headings do you see? Which ones attract your attention?</p>
<p>This is what some call effective advertising. </p>
<p>Credit based safelists may change the way marketers feel about safelists. Considering the state of email today, would not that be a good thing?</p>

Upline support is incredibly important since most people who sign up for a network marketing program are new and need help getting started.  Why would someone not want to help their downline? Maybe they just want to recruit more distributors or they could be new to network marketing also and thus not realize that their downlines success is going to help them be successful. </p>
<p>TIP: Before joining any network marketing program look for someone who is going to provide the resources and support that you need to succeed. It is well worth the effort and could determine how well you do in building your online business.</p>
<p>2. One of the major reasons for avoiding network marketing programs is the fear of having to sell a product. Know what the network marketing pros do?  They network. </p>
<p>Know your business, learn your business and when it comes up, speak honestly and with conviction and others will want to follow your example. Love your business and it will show.</p>
<p>3. Generating leads or prospects is one of the most important tasks of any business. <p>2. Display an RSS Feed on your website. By displaying a feed on a website and providing fresh content, the search engines will spider the website regularly. The more often your website is updated with fresh content the more regularly the search engines will index your site. </p>
<p>3. Internal links. Within your feed make sure to always use the full path of any links. Other websites may syndicate the contents of your RSS Feed and if the links within the feed are not fully qualified then they will not work! Links should also launch a new browser thus keeping visitors on your website. </p>
<p>4. Emphasize keywords in your link text.  The search engines will use the text in the feeds internal links to help identify the keywords to use for your RSS feed.</p>
<p>So be sure to use keywords in any link text that points back to your website or feed.</p>
<p>5. My.MSN and My.Yahoo. The fastest way to get your RSS feed spidered by Yahoo or MSN is to include your feed on a personal my.yahoo or my.msn home page. </p>
<p>Just create an account on the search engines and set up the home page to include your RSS feed. The RSS feed will usually be indexed by Yahoo and MSN within 24 to 48 hours. </p>
<p>6. RSS Feed backlinks. Just like with a website you need to increase you feed&#8217;s link popularity by submitting it to the appropriate directories. When submitting your feed be sure to choose the correct category. </p>
<p>7. RSS Feed summary. Summaries or introductions are needed to provide additional information on an HTML site that will entice a reader to click through to view the entire item of the feed. By providing enough teaser copy you will allow your visitors to easily decide whether the content is something that is important to them.</p>
<p>8. Subscribe to your own RSS feed. How will you know what your subscribers are seeing unless you see it for yourself? Subscribing will also allow you to experiment with formatting and will show you when you may need to add HTML into your feed. </p>
<p>9. Most feed readers display feeds in the reader alphabetically. This means that if your RSS Feed title begins with A then it will probably appear in the top of the list in most feed readers. So keep this tip in mind if you think it is important for your feed to appear in the top of the list of most feed readers. </p>
<p>10. Every link in your feed is important. Each item tag in your RSS Feed should include a unique URL. This URL should send your visitors to information that is related to your feed.</p>
