If you know what Human Resources professionals want, you will have a better chance to be the next candidate called for an interview. Professional resume tips will definitely give you that much needed edge!

Professional resume tips #1 - Size really does matters

The length of your resume will be partially determined by how much working experience that you have, but length prevents your resume from standing out.

If you are new jobseeker or just do not have much experience in the field in which you are applying, Human Resources staff prefer to see just a one page resume. This is a brief way to sum up the qualities and work experience that you do have without wasting their time.

Of course, if you more experienced in the position for which you are applying, a two page resume may be more suitable. Of course, if you are just listing things to make the resume longer, you may not have the outcome you would like.

The bottom line is to be as brief as possible without ommitting something that the Human Resource people would like to know.

Professional resume tips #2 - Are the dates consistent

Many resume writers are worried about whether or not to alter the dates of their different jobs just to make a seamless chronology of their work history.

First of all, that is being dishonest. And you do not want to begin a new job with a lie that could be discovered.

Second of all, HR professionals prefer to see the gaps of your work history and how these breaks were filled by you. Perhaps you had a newborn baby or there was a family crisis that caused you to leave your career for a period of time. Whatever the reason, just be ready to explain the gaps.

Professional resume tips #3 - Discussing your previous positions

What you might need to do is describe positions that are related to the one that you are applying for. While you will still be asked how long you were in each position, showing the relevance is much more helpful to the HR people.

You must give your positions their correct titles or ones that express the same idea. Manager and Supervisor are frequently used interchangeably. For example, supervisor sounds slightly more professional.

As long as you are not fabricating titles, you are fine to smooth out their wording.

Professional resume tips #4 - What are your accomplishments

Hiring managers need to know what you have already done for your previous employers. You should have all the facts and figures that you could quote and discuss. Did you increase sales? Did you save the company money? Provide the HR person with things in black and white and you will see that you get better responses.

Discuss the positive things that you have done for your previous employers, and if there were any negative situations, find the positive side in them in case you are asked.

Professional resume tips #5 - Cover letter please.

Do you really need a cover letter? In many cases, hiring managers like to see something that demonstrates your individual personality. After several resumes, they will begin to look the same. This is not to say that you should begin with a something funny or send a photo of yourself, but you should use a cover letter to provide some indication of the kind of employee you are.

You want to show that you know what kinds of responsibilities is expected of you if hired and that you fully comprehend the goals of the company.

Show them that you really want this job and that you are more than ready for the challenge.

Professional resume tips #6 - 100% error free

Simple errors in grammar and spelling will hurt your chances of getting hired in any higher position. Take the extra time to have someone proof read your resume to make sure that you sound and look professional.

Just remember that hiring managers only have a limited time to read every resume that they receive. Get right to the point and your resume will get you the interview.

BreastFeeding is a beautiful and natural thing that allows a mother to provide her newborn baby with everything that is needed for a healthy start to life. Not only does it provide babies with the nutritional necessities of life, breastfeeding provides mothers and babies with a chance to bond and establish a loving relationship. It is very important that a woman has a good breastfeeding diet in order to pass on the most benefit to her baby.

Breastfeeding also provides a baby with all the necessary antibodies to fight off several infections and other illnesses in infancy and early childhood. It is essential that a mother has an adequate breast feeding diet so that she can be healthy and strong for her baby.

Breastfeeding is an easy way to give your baby the healthy start that he deserves. You are going to want to do it right so that you can pass on the most benefit to your baby. A healthy breast feeding diet is essential.

A nursing mother produces 24 to 27 ounces of milk per day. This burns around 500 calories everyday. The quality of milk depends on the quality of the mother’s breast feeding diet. If a woman lacks nourishment, the body makes milk production the highest priority and the mother’s own health will suffer.

A mother should have up to three quarts of water per day, but should be careful not to overdo it as too much liquid can reduce milk production.

A mother’s breastfeeding diet should include 2,500 calories per day. Mothers can eat even more than this if they are planning on breastfeeding for many than three months, up to 2,800 calories per day.

Breastfeeding mothers should include five small meals in their breast feeding diet. Each meal is an opportunity to drink water, eat low fat dairy products, and a piece of fruit. The caloric intake needs to be regular, so try to keep to a schedule.

Many mothers on breast feeding diets will be tempted to consume too many sweets. Try to ignore this impulse.

New mothers should avoid alcohol. This passes through the milk in less than an hour, but if the baby consumes it in large quantities, it can retard growth.

Avoid taking any medication during breastfeeding without consulting your doctor. Breastfeeding mothers should also beware of pollutants. This includes nicotine and pesticide residue.

When it is time to sit down to dinner, breastfeeding mothers should eat a variety of foods that are low in fat. This means selecting vegetables with a variety of different colours. Remember, your breast feeding diet is essential to your health and the health of your baby.

Natural childbirth is believed by most to be much better for both the mother and child. Some women who opt for natural childbirth choose to have a home delivery in a setting such as a birth center, where natural child birth is a primary focus. Natural child birth is referred to as having a baby without the use of medicine. This is a great goal to have if you have no expectations of any complications. The choice of natural child birth is, of course, a personal choice and not for everyone and not always possible. Your safety and the safety of your baby is first and foremost but if doing it without medication or surgery is important to you it is a good idea to make a birth plan and speak with your doctor or midwife.

Lamaze is one of the most common childbirth teachings and are taught to many women in their third trimester. Lamaze teaches you how to cope for childbirth pain. There are several books on natural child birth as well as online forums and web sites that will allow you to chat to other pregnant women and moms who have experienced natural child birth. Your child’s birth is an experience that should be left up to you if everything is moving along smoothly with your labour. If natural childbirth is your goal, be sure that you choose a physician, midwife and hospital that will help you reach your goals.

The first step is to choose what kind of childbirth experience you want. Some women opt for a hospital birth while others want a home delivery. Some choose a midwife while others are fine with a doctor. Several women are interested in water birth. Several child birthing centers will offer many options and are a good choice for women who want to experience natural child birth but be close to an operating room in case of an emergency.

Become knowledgeable with classes and ebooks on natural childbirth that cover the whole process and scope of everything from conception to pregnancy, childbirth, and then parenting and be sure that your spouse and physician or midwife are aware of your preferences. While your ideal child birth experience may not be possible, there are several ways to ensure that your experience is as pleasant as possible for both yourself, your spouse and your child.

Some women also opt to hire a doula for their pregnancy who will help them. Writing a birthing plan, researching your options and working closely with your medical professional will all bring you the best results possible in your aim for natural childbirth.

Especially in the early stages of pregnancy, the changes to the mother’s body seem to be very slow. Just because all of the many miraculous events are undetectable to the eye does not mean that pregnancy week by week is anything short of ever changing. From the moment of conception to the actual arrival of the baby, pregnancy is a constant state of a work in progress. Every week brings more changes and development for both mother and baby.

For a look at pregnancy week by week, let us take a particular week from each trimester to get a clear look at how rapidly things change inside an expectant mother’s uterus. Week six of the first trimester is usually about the time mother-to-be discovers the existence of her little baby. By this stage, the little one already has a heartbeat but is only about 1/17 of an inch long. That heartbeat is moving the baby’s own blood through the tiny body and the beginnings of arms and legs are starting to form. Facial features are also on their way to development at this early stage. Every baby and pregnancy is unique so this is a rough guess of the state of progress at week six.

Moving forward a few months to the second trimester in pregnancy week by week places events at week twenty one. The baby is moving a lot at this stage. Daddy and other loved one may be able to feel the movement now. Growth slows a little as the heart grows stronger. And to help out with all of that movement, the baby’s legs are becoming more proportionate to the rest of it’s body. Mother is probably feeling more comfortable with morning sickness hopefully behind her. This is about the time when her pregnancy is becoming obvious to others.

In the third trimester it is a run to the finish line. Week thirty is right in the middle of the third trimester in our look at pregnancy week by week. At this point the baby probably weighs about three pounds and is gaining weight everyday. That means mother is probably feeling a little awkward and uncomfortable. The baby’s eyelids are working. Week thirty also brings the baby’s ability to produce his own red blood cells. In other words, the bone marrow is now functioning independently of Mother.

Despite the feeling of pregnancy lasting forever that many pregnant moms experience, pregnancy week by week is a new adventure. Both Mom and the new arrival are in constant motion preparing for the final stages of this beautiful and exciting time.

Do you suffer from sleep deprivation? You know by now how you feel without a good night sleep: tiredness, irritability and a loss of concentration are high on the side effects list for insomnia...

Do you suffer from sleep deprivation? You know by now how you feel without a good night sleep: tiredness, irritability and a loss of concentration are high on the side effects list for insomnia. Therefore, it is very important that you find your cause of insomnia and an insomnia cure as soon as possible.

Sleep deprivation and sleep apnea affects our nervous systems by leaving us drowsy and unable to concentrate. Even losing sleep a few nights a week can significantly impair your ability to function and decrease the quality of your life. Not getting enough sleep also leads to poor memory. If sleep deprivation continues, hallucinations and mood swings will develop. In the same vein, sleeping problems are common in both mental and physical disorders including schizophrenia and depression, stroke, cancer, and head injuries.

Insomnia treatment and cure: For getting a proper sleep at night, do the following:

Sleep only when sleepy. This reduces the time you are awake in bed.

If you can not fall asleep within 25 minutes, just get up and do something boring until you feel sleepy. Sit quietly in the dark listen to some nice relaxing music. Do not expose yourself to bright light while you are up.

Do not take naps. This will make you tired at bedtime. If you just cannot make it through the day without a power nap, sleep less than one hour, before 4 pm.

Go to bed and get up the same time every day. When your sleep cycle has a regular rhythm, you will feel much better.

Refrain from exercise at least four hours before bedtime. Regular exercise is recommended to help you sleep well, but the timing of the workout is important. Exercising in the morning or early afternoon will not interfere with your sleep.

Develop sleep rituals. Listen to relaxing cds, read something soothing for twenty minutes, have a cup of warm milk, and do relaxation exercises.

Avoid caffeine, nicotine and alcohol at least four hours before bed. Caffeine and nicotine are stimulants that interfere with your ability to fall asleep. Alcohol may seem to help you sleep in the beginning as it slows brain activity, but you will end up having a restless night.

Have a light snack before you go to bed. If your tummy is too empty, that can interfere with sleep. However, if you eat a big meal before bedtime, that can interfere as well.

Take a hot bath ninety minutes before bedtime. This will relax your body and will help you fall asleep.

Make sure your bedroom and bed are quiet and comfortable.

Getting a good night’s sleep is as important as having a proper healthy diet and exercising to keep a healthy body. A good night sleep makes your skin look fresh and it also helps make your brain more alert. Though in a busy lifestyle we always try to sacrifice sleep for work but it is very important that you set aside enough hours for some good old-fashioned beauty sleep. The average person needs eight hours of sleep, while infants need sixteen hours of sleep, and teenagers need about nine hours.

Scientists believe that sleep maintains and repairs our bodies and minds. Every night we cycle through three stages of sleep ranging from light sleep to deep sleep, and finally, to rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. A complete sleep cycle takes ninety to one hundred minutes on average. While we sleep our brains are using important neuronal connections that might otherwise get worse from lack of activity. During deep sleep, brain activity that control emotions, decision-making processes, and social interaction stops, allowing us to maintain optimal emotional and social functioning when we are awake. Cell repair and cell growth takes place to combat the affects of stress and UV rays in this stage as well. Hence, deep sleep is really beauty sleep.

Sleep also strengthens our immune system and helps our bodies fight infection. This is because our immune system releases a sleep inducing chemical while fighting a flu or an infection. Sleep helps the body conserve energy and other resources that the immune system requires to mount an effective attack. Start your insomnia treatment as soon as possible to prevent sleep deprivation.

Healthy Living is the number one goal among North Americans. However, 80% of the population do not know that cooking healthy, eating healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables, and making healthy choices can mean the difference between life and death. I have written this health and fitness article so that people can make healthy choices for their own personal health care and well being.

Here are 25 ways to eat and drink healthy:

1. Do not drink iced water, especially not with meals. This interferes with flow of your digestive juices and impairs digestion.

2. Drink a cup of fresh pure water, at room temperature, the first thing in the morning and last thing at night. You should drink it hot only when you are constipated. In that case, a little lime or lemon may be added.

3. Drink six to eight glasses of water every day, approximately one glass for every fourteen pounds of your body weight. Drink mineral water to be on safe side.

4. Do not drink water with your meals, but drink it half hour before or two to three hours after your meals so as not to disturb the process of your digestion by diluting the digestive juices.

5. Sip the water slowly, never swig it down at once.

6. In order to restore life elements of the water lost in boiling or processing, pass it through the air, pouring it from one cup to another. You will soon notice that this gives a slightly invigorating and stimulating effect, which is absent in dead and devitalized water.

7. It is better that you eat fresh fruits and vegetables than to drink fruit or vegetable juices.

8. Do not keep juices standing, as they will lose their precious enzymes. Apple juice for instance loses one third of them after 30 minutes and all of them after two hours.

9. Coffee, tea, alcohol and chocolate are not recommended because tannic acid, theine, caffeine and theobromine are stimulants.

10. Milk is really a food, not a drink. You should have it in small sips. Otherwise, it will likely produce indigestion.

11. It is not the amount of food you consume that nourishes your body, but only the amount the body itself can assimilate.

12. Choose carefully the foods that fit your system, choose them just as carefully as you choose a shirt, a hat or a tie. You have to try different food combinations until you figure out which health food suit you best. Make health choices such as steam fresh vegetables.

13. Avoid all devitalized foods like canned food, polished rice, white flour and white sugar. Use unpolished rice, whole wheat flour and brown sugar or honey.

14. Another healthy choice is to chew your food carefully and slowly, especially if it is the starchy kind, so that it may be properly mixed with saliva, otherwise starch will be waiting for digestion for several hours.

15. Toasted bread is better than fresh. Do not eat it with liquid. Drink before eating the bread, as starch should be converted into glucose by saliva.

16. Eat only one starch to a meal. For instance, if you have rice then omit potatoes, bread, macaroni starchy pudding and so on.

17. If you suffer from gas, it is advisable to plan your meals so that you do not eat protein and starch together; and especially not with cooked sulphur foods like green peas, cabbage, broccoli, eggs, turnips, and so on because gas is produced by sulphur working on the starch.

18. Do not throw away the water in which vegetables have been boiled but use it for gravies, soup or for drinking. Potato water is excellent as it alkalizes the body.

19. Fried greasy foods as well as rich dishes should be avoided altogether, because these digest more slowly than fat itself. Fat is the last to leave your stomach, carbohydrates is first and then proteins.

20. All saturated fats, such as lard, butter, margarine, eggs, and dairy products will increase the blood cholesterol level and can be classified as unessential fats.

21. Any diet which is high in saturated fat is dangerous. So you should eat a balanced meal, a high fat and low protein diet inhibits the function of enzymes.

22. Remember, it is not only the calories and amount of fat that decide the nutrition and health, but the quality of fat. Bacon, for instance has caloric fat value only. It contains nothing else, neither vitamins, nor minerals.

23. Six cups of fresh raw cabbage juice a day keep peptic ulcers away.

24. The richest source of protein is soya bean. Two pounds of soya been flour contain as much protein as five pounds of cheese, five pounds of boneless meat or six dozen eggs or 10 liters of milk. Soya bean is the only non-acid forming protein.

25. The most essential rule about food, however, has nothing to do with quality, quantity or preparation, but with your mental attitude at the time you are eating it.

I hope that you will use this health and wellness article to make healthy choices when you start your person health care program. If you have any health questions or comments be sure to check out our Health Fitness Site for more health and fitness articles.

Eat, drink and be healthy.
