Being pregnant can be difficult enough for many women who may suffer not only from health issues but also may have financial concerns due to the monetary responsibility of being a mother.

The constant thought of what is going to happen after the baby is born can be very stressful for them, particularly if they don’t want to go back to their present employer.

Many wish to make a career change while pregnant and feel that this is probably one of the best times for doing exactly that.

However, the opportunity of finding a new career, at this specific time in their lives, is very restrictive. How many employers want to take on a new employee, the mother of a new baby, knowing that she is very likely to be distracted by thoughts of the welfare of her baby throughout the working day rather than his or her company? They would also have their doubts on whether she would be reliable in her time keeping due to her baby’s needs.

However, a career change while pregnant is now very possible for every woman who wants to take the chance of working for themselves. They could utilise the skills they have accumulated during their time of working as an employee by setting themselves up as a consultant in specific areas of their knowledge base.

They could also use this time to take the opportunity of turning their hobby into a business. However, the handicap of this would be that they would have to allocate many hours into developing a new business venture and this is likely to be impossible with a new baby to look after.

The internet is possibly one area where a career change while pregnant would be an advantage to a woman at this point in her life. These advantages would include the fact that she would not have to leave the home, thus leaving her baby with someone else. She would always be on hand when required. She could work the hours she wanted to work and around the needs of her baby.

The skills required for her internet business could be acquired whilst still working for the employer and up until the time that the woman would have to leave the company on maternity leave.

Therefore finding an internet business which did not take too long to master the necessary skills could be the answer to many women who are looking for a career change while pregnant.

These personal challenges can come in the guise of caring for someone who has become too ill to look after themselves and are therefore very vulnerable...

These personal challenges can come in the guise of caring for someone who has become too ill to look after themselves and are therefore very vulnerable. You will take on this challenge with love and care for that person knowing that when the time comes and that person is no longer around, you will have done everything in your power to have made their lives as comfortable and safe as you possibly could have.

It is not easy to take on this challenge as your every moment will be spent looking after someone while, at the same time, coping with your own sadness of coming to terms of what your loved one is going through. You will be totally exhausted, both mentally and physically and you will also feel very alone at times.

But the eventual rewards far outweigh all the stress you will cope with. There will also be many moments when you will get so much joy and pleasure and these moments will comfort you when the time arrives that you need to let go. Many years later, you will still have those wonderful memories and the comfort of knowing that you did your very best.

Other challenges you will come across in your lives will be facing your fears brought about by perhaps, your fear of flying, starting a new job, going out to meet new people again or even moving to a new area.

Overcoming personal challenges by taking hold of each of your fears and doing what you want to do, helps you to grow in confidence. The benefit of overcoming your personal fear will enable you to take on other challenges which you were previously fearful of.

Watching marathon runners arrive at the finishing line, you will see the exhaustion, determination and focus sketched on their faces. They had taken on the challenge of running the marathon many months before they actually ran it because, at that time in their lives they needed a personal challenge and were determined to succeed.

They now have stories and memorabilia to pass on to the next generation of their families. But not only do they have the memorabilia to pass on, they also pass on to their family and the generations to come, the knowledge that they too can take on any challenge, be focussed and achieve anything they set their minds to achieve - after all, their aunt, uncle, mother, father etc. had done it and therefore, so they could too. It’s in their blood!

Another major challenge many people have to cope with on a day to day basis is their debt challenge. This can affect many areas of their lives and with certain times of the year, such as Christmas, birthdays and summer holidays, it can be very depressing and a very painful time for them. Yes, there are many agencies offering easy credit to tempt these people into borrowing more money but, this has only lead to negative challenges.

Debt problems can lead to a spiral of disastrous effects. When constantly worrying about your debt challenge, you will make decisions which you would ot otherwise have made with a clearer head. These decisions can have many negative effects for years to come.

If you are coping with a debt challenge, or know someone who is going through that scenario, then you are probably asking yourself, what is the answer? The answer is taking control of this challenge in a positive and constructive way, after all, it is just another challenge.

What a lot of people don’t realise is that many fashion design businesses have started out as just a small home business. In a lot of cases these businesses would even have been started from their kitchen table or spare bedroom. The fashion business is definitely a business which could be started from home and on a very small budget.

Laura Ashley was one such designer who started her design business on her kitchen table in London. She went on to build a very successful international design business.

Another international fashion designer whose fashion design talent was sown in his own home and at a very early age was the designer, Bruce Oldfield.

They, amongst other designers, have inspired many to live out their dream of owning their own fashion design business and following their footsteps to success.

The fun and pleasure of creating your own designs can start at any age. Once the fashion bug takes hold, it can be a very exciting and exhilarating time. The
adrenaline will constantly being stirred by the creation and completion of new designs. These designs may have been inspired by the most unusual items, such as a brick, the sunset, an old pattern, an architectural building, or any item.

If you find yourself sketching or doodling designs on every spare piece of paper, then you most likely have a hidden talent yourself for being a fashion designer.

Why not give yourself the opportunity to start a fashion business from your own home?

You could specialise in various niches, including women’s clothing, full size clothing, gothic clothing etc. One way of starting your business would be to create a few samples of your designs and then promote them with the help of friends at house parties to find out if they are marketable.

When you have completed this initial research, you should then take your new business to the next level, which would be to prepare your business plan.

There are certain qualities required to run a fashion design business and two of the most important ones are, tenacity and determination. There will be many times when

working on your fashion business that you will feel like giving up and this will be entirely because of the enormous amount of work involved. This is when the tenacity quality will be required. You will have to have enough determination to achieve all the dreams you have for your fashion business success.

Constantly thinking of and worrying about your debt-challenge can eat away at your soul. It can make you ill - seriously ill! It is a fact that cancer can be brought on by constant worrying. It is also a fact that many people have committed suicide entirely because of their financial problems.

However, the amount of time you spend worrying could so easily be used in a more positive way. Your debts are not going to be with you forever. If you are in debt at this moment, remember it is just a temporary situation you are in right now. It could last for a few more months or even a few more years but that depends on how you treat your debts.

If you constantly spend your time thinking about them, on awakening each morning, during the day and as you go to bed at night, what time have you got left for thinking about what you want to achieve in life? Just by shifting your ‘thinking’ you can open many doors to new opportunities.

The following saying is from the ‘Buddah’
“You are what you think.
All that you are, arises from your thoughts.
With your thoughts, you make your world.”

Think about those words. Are they true?

Instead of thinking about your debts, deal with them by getting advice from a debt management agency. They are the ones who have the experience of dealing with debts and helping people get their lives back into a good financial order.

There are many debt management agencies who do not have charges and have been set up by governmentz to help people eliminate their debt. You should never need to pay for this advice.

However, if you are in debt, you must remember that your debt is just a small part of your life, so don’t give it more importance than it should have. Decide that you have spend enough time thinking about it and start thinking about what you would like to achieve in the next chapter of your life.

Use your imagination to move onto your next goal because what you think about constantly is what you will get. Your imagination is just one of the many amazing gifts which we have all been given and with it you can achieve all that you think about.

Every book you read and every film you have watched has been derived from the imagination of someone else. Every business which has been formed has grown from a tiny seed of imagination from the founder.

With tremendous determination on your part, you can turn your own imagination into any tangible asset, any time that you desire.

You have a choice, so what do you want to think about today?

The last major world financial collapse was on Monday, October 19, 1987. This day was then referred to as Black Monday. It was the day that the Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted over 22% and in turn, had major effects on many countries in the world. By the end of October of that year, Australia fell 41.8%, Hong Kong fell 45.8%, Canada 22.3% and the United Kingdom 26.4%.

What made that day so memorable was the fact that it was the second largest one day percentage fall in recorded stock market history, the largest being the one which occurred on Saturday, December 12th 1914.

The term Black Monday came about from the period of the Wall Street Crash in 1929, then called Black Thursday.

There is still a mystery surrounding the 1987 crash. No notice from the media occurred to notify people as to what was about to transpire. To today, people still discuss the reasons for it and everyone has their individual point of view. The ripple effect of those days took its time to rear its ugly head to the early 1990’s with the culmination of thousands of people losing their homes and businesses on a weekly basis.

For the people who suffered the effects of Black Monday, it has taken them several years to get over that disastrous day. In fact, there are many people, even now, almost twenty years later, who have not recovered from this, their financial nightmare. They are generally in the age bracket where they were unemployable from that day onwards.

Even though they had the chance to go bankrupt, they didn’t want to take that road. Many people felt that the stigma of being a bankrupt was too much for them to bear and instead ’soldiered on’, to nowhere, financially.

Now there are concerns that we may be revisiting the nightmare of that period. Thereforfe, the first thing everyone should do is to ensure that they have taken all steps necessary to protect themselves in advance of another recession. Since the last recession, numerous people have chosen a career or business which is recession proof but that is not the case for many others.

To protect yourself, make a list all your debts. Is there anyway you could spread these over a longer term, thus making the payments more manageable? Find out what possibilities there are for you to generate some extra income. Check what insurance cover you have in the event of your not being able to cover these debts. Double check the small print, as you may be paying for a policy which turns out to be useless when required.

In other words, try your hardest to see if you can cushion the effects of the next potential recession. Take control of the situation before others take control of your life. By doing everything you can to protect yourself and your family, if the worst happens that the next recession puts you into dire straits financially, at least you will know that you tried everything you possibly could have.

You just have to turn on the TV to see the millions of people queuing up at airports to go on their holidays. In many cases it is their second or third holiday of the year. Their suitcases bulging with all the new clothes they absolutely needed for the two week event.

After the summer holiday, their next thought is getting ready for Christmas, which is another mad spending time for everyone. They want the latest of gadgets and toys for their children and family, spending hundreds and even thousands to appease their desire to give the best. Their homes have to be adorned with the latest designer Christmas decorations. They can’t use last year’s because they are no longer fashionable for the home. However, if they were truly honest with themselves they would know that their agenda was to impress their neighbours and visitors on how ‘clever’ they were for putting on such a ‘beautiful’ show.

They rush off to the stores to buy the pre-packed luxury foods for the special two day event. Then they complain about how stressed they are with the constant round of Christmas shopping. When Christmas Day arrives, they can’t drag themselves to go to Church - would it be because they can’t spend there?

Immediately after Christmas, they make a mad rush to get to the sales. They arrive home with several bags of items which they so desperately needed. The bags are opened to display the designer labelled garments - yet another way to impress upon their friends and neighbours of how successful they are because they can afford to wear ‘designer’ labels.

All of this is done happily without any concern for the cost involved because they tell themselves that “It’s only plastic”. When one of their plastic friends begins to show signs of too much wear, they apply for another and eventually another.

The cycle goes on. Suddenly it’s Easter time and the house is beginning to look shabby. New furniture for indoors and garden furniture for outdoors becomes paramount. The flooring suddenly needs changing and the kitchen needs revamping or replacing. Once one room is completed, they move onto the next until they have finished the whole house.

Guess what the next item is? Yes, they need a new house and as soon as they get that, it’s off for another holiday to get over all the stress involved in the buying and selling process of moving.

The cycle continues again and again until one day things change. Disaster strikes in the form of illness, redundancy, divorce or a bereavement in the
family.

Eventually they look back on the last few years and ask themselves what it was all about. They no longer have the money for the credit cards, loans and overdrafts, let alone the mortgage and now have to face a complete change in their live styles. The plastic friend, otherwise knows as the ‘flexible
friend’, is no longer a friend.

It is a fact that tens of thousands of credit card customers are facing the harsh reality of progressively escalating debt but it is never too late to take control and sort out a financial mess with a well structured repayment plan.

This is a new period for many people and also a very positive time in their lives. They are taking control of the plastic and looking forward to a more secure financial future without it.

Debt later in life is not a situation anyone would want to be in and the thought of it inspires an element of fear. But, no one is immune to this possibility. Nor does anyone in that position like to have to ask for financial assistance. To have to queue up and then discuss your personal financial problems with someone who may never have been in debt is a daunting experience.

However, debt befalls most people at some time in their lives, whatever their age and is nothing to be embarrassed about. There is a lot of help available so that you do not have to live with financial stress and all its effects, later in life.

Many elderly people have managed to reverse their debt problems and have gone on to attain a financial security to the same level and sometimes much higher than previously. These people have had the opportunity of acquiring the necessary funding to start all over again. They have been driven to obtain all the trappings of their earlier wealth lifestyle.

There are, however, many people who have not had this opportunity, through no fault of their own. It may be, amongst other reasons, because of ill health on their part or that of a family member.

When someone falls into debt in their forties, they have a good chance of getting their financial life back into a reasonable secure state at the very least. They are still very employable. When in their fifties, it is certainly much harder for them but not impossible. In their sixties, it can be a much more stressful and worrying time. However there are still opportunities in which then can generate extra income. It is often recognised that, as long as you have good health, the sixties of today are equated to the forties of yesterday.

Each and every one of us has a skill and a talent which could be transferred into money if only we had the faith to believe that we could do it. Instead of spending your every moment worrying and in panic about the situation the lack of finances has placed upon you; why not spend more time considering what alternatives you have to turn this around.

As soon as you start to think about what you could do, ideas will start to flow easily. Write these down as they come to you. When you decide which idea to go for, find all the available funding and resources which are waiting to be granted. Nothing happens unless you take action. By taking immediate action you are one step nearer your new project and more wealth in your life.

Almost every government has specific funding available for people who are over 50 to help them restart their career or start up a new business. This could eventually lead to an amazing new chapter in your life.

There is one way in which you could generate income and at any age. This is by taking up writing. Later in live, you will have accumulated many experiences, knowledge and skills that people would love to learn about. If for any reason you can’t write the book yourself, you could dictate to someone else who could then turn it into a book for you. You could share some of the profits with this person thus ensuring that two people generated extra money from just one project alone.

There are many other opportunities of making money later in life, it is just a case of brainstorming your ideas either on your own or with other people and then taking the action needed to get started.

1. Self confidence
Rich people have an innate confidence and faith in the knowledge that they are destined to be rich. They have the determination, drive and energy to keep going until they reach their goals and nothing will deter them. Giving up is not an option for rich people.

2. Prioritising their time
Rich people protect their time. They value it and don’t waste it on meaningless pursuits, such as watching mindless television or wasting valuable time sleeping in late. They have a plan for each and every day which is broken down into sections to complete each set and specific task. They normally set their plan the night before so that when they wake up, they know exactly what they want to achieve by a certain time in the morning etc. Time management is a very important criterion of the rich.

3. They network to improve their social status
Rich people are focused and like to mix with like minded people. They prefer to be surrounded by people who have driven themselves by their own motivation and determination. This does not mean to say that they only mix with wealthy people. ‘Rich’ comes in all forms. Mother Theresa certainly was not wealthy but many people would love to have been able to network with her.

4. Investing
They do not hesitate when they need to spend money on investing in their knowledge because they know that this will be returned threefold at the very least. They refuse to consider that they are not progressing in their future wealth. Rich people believe that knowledge is power.

5. Positive attitude
